"What else is love but understanding and rejoicing in the fact that another person lives, acts, and experiences otherwise than we do?" -Nietzsche
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, I moved to Philadelphia, PA to attend University of the Arts, and graduated with a BFA in Acting. I am now living in New York City as an Actress and Teaching Artist.
Peter Brook once said that the essence of theatre is story-telling. I hope to bring hope, passion, and change into this world through the stories told by the powerful playwrights and film makers of our past, present, and future. I believe now more than ever, the qualities of human empathy, action, and community need to be emphasized.
"Theater is like a gym for empathy. It's where we can go to build up the muscles of compassion, to practice listening and understanding and engaging with people that are not just like ourselves. We practice sitting down, paying attention and learning from other people's actions. We practice caring." -Bill English
